Initial Research into Audio Visual Products - P2

E4 E4 is a TV channel which is owned by Channel 4. The E stands for entertainment. This channel shows programmes, which are to entertain the audience. These would be shows such as Married at first sight, Brooklyn nine nine, The big bang theory, Made in Chelsea and How I met your mother. The target audience for this channel would be 16-32 year olds. This would be due to how the channel includes shows which the audience can relate to, such as Hollyoaks, which is a soap opera that presents how people live daily. The logo would project a message that entertainment is for a lot of people. The current ident are more animated and relaxed, in which they don't include a lot of stuff on it.  This screengrab presents an ident which is animated.  Trailer for a film - Selma (2015) This is a trailer for the film 'Selma', which is a film based on a significant event in Martin Luther King's life. The purpose of this is to educate the audience about the historic struggles to secure voting right for all people due to segregation. The audience for this trailer would be for people who are aged 15-30 years old. This would appeal to males as the trailer shows a male, who is the main character of the film. This would be in the interest of people who are interested in learning more about Martin Luther King's life along with learning about how segregation played a part in a group of people not being able to vote. This would also appeal to people who have a liking to Biopics, considering how the film is based on real life. This would appeal more to Americans as this took Place in America. History of idents

  A few months after BBC began its service on TV, the company figured that they needed a way to alert the audience about the programme, along with the channel. This would be where the screen identity would be introduced in 1936. There had been some caption cards that was produced for individual shows, which was a technique that was used in cinemas. The turning symbol would be the first look for the ident, with it just being a circle and the name, BBC Television Service. This was created with a paint brush and a card from WH Smith.  In today's media, this would not be something which would stand of the organisation's values, with the practical side being the fact that the BBC artist attempted to outdo other modern products. Defining Audio Visual Promos (P1)

Audio visual promos are ways to promote an upcoming or an updated product. There are different type of audio visual promos. These include: Music promos, which are short audio visual representations which are made to accompany a song that is released by a musician. The duration of the music promo can vary from the factors of the song and it could include an image of the artist. Trailer for a film/TV programme/game/animation comes in two types, with one of them being a teaser trailer, which is an advanced release of a visual and include little information and another type being a trailer, which is a longer version and includes more information of the media products and would give a date of when it will be released.   TV idents, which is a short audio visual sequence that is shown before the beginning of a programme, which includes information of the channel that the viewers are currently on. They are designed to promote the channel.
