Rough edit and audience feedback
From the audience feedback that I had gathered, there are some things I would need to include to perfect the Ident
-Film a shot of someone watching TV from their head perspective so that the audience know that they are watching TV.
-Film a shot of someone changing the channel from the TV perspective.
-Include a shot of someone holding a remote control to show the audience that we are watching TV.
-Get a low angle of someone watching TV.
-Add in a video to fill in a jump shot to make the transition from one shot to another shot smoother
-Add some graphics from the game shows from the channel to show the audience of the type of shows that are being referred to in the ident.
-add some casual background music at the beginning duration of the ident
Changes
Looking back at this audience feedback, I have decided to take on some of these ideas as I feel like it could be really beneficial. I have decided to film some additional shots of the two representatives watching TV, alongside some alternative shots to fill in some of the jump cuts that I have. Also, I have decided to use some images from the programs to let the audience know what shows are being referred to when we start asking questions. However, I have decided to not get a shot from behind of people watching TV as I feel like it would make the beginning of the ident feel more tedious to watch and boring as it lingers at the beginning of the ident rather than getting straight to the point of it.
Feedback no.2
- clear narrative in the ident
- add in a voiceover
- fill in jump cuts with image of the show
Changes
From this audience feedback, I have decided to include a voiceover, as I feel like it would be a great way to introduce the next show to the audience. Also, I will fill in jump cuts that I have to make the editing a bit smoother as it looks rough. Maybe in one of the jump cuts when a show is being referred to, I will add in an image from one of the shows in the channel for the audience to have a first idea of what type of shows are being watched.
Feedback no.3
From another audience feedback, there are some things that I have been advised to do, such as:
- Have a shot at the beginning in another angle of the two people watching TV
- Fill in jump cuts with footage from shows
- Refilm low quality or blurry sections
- add a voiceover at the end saying what the channel is about
Changes
Some of this has been considered for actual implementation. These include adding a voiceover at the end of my ident as a way to give more personality to my ident. Also, I have decided to film another shot of someone watching TV from another angle. However, I have decided not to use footage from shows to fill in jump cuts as the cuts only occur when someone is speaking, meaning that I could just put in a shot of the other person in the conversation instead of trying to look at specific footage to put on, which would waste time.
Feedback no.4
- Fill in jump cuts
- some scenes were low quality
- voiceover at the end to describe the next channel
- add some images from the show
Changes
After looking at this feedback, I understand that there could be a few changes that would help make my ident look more natural. I will fix some of the jump cuts to make the ident look smoother and natural and it won't look like it's been forced. I have made the decision to add a voiceover at the end as it is a typical convention of ident to include a voiceover to let the audience know what shows are coming up next and could give information about the shows and could present small footage of the shows to give a hint of what's coming up next.
