For my ident, I have decided to film it at a house which would include the representatives. This would be a good place for me to film this as it could fit the narrative of a group of people hanging out with each other being questioned on random topics. This would be a suitable place for my ident as I will be filming this during the evening and people are likely to be at home watching TV at the evening considering how people would be working during daytime.  The ident will be filmed in one room, which will be the living room. The representatives will all be present in the room. They will be mostly sitting down, so in terms of moving around a lot, that wouldn't be an issue. Everyone will all be sitting on the same couch as a way to present how people would hang out with each other while waiting for a TV show to begin. To present the day of the time, we will be using the lights so that the audience know that it is set in the evening. The living room would be a suitable place to film t...

LO2 Be able to generate ideas for an original audio-visual promo - Challenge

The brief has informed us that Freeview wants an Ident for one of their channels. They want it to remind the audience of one of the channels that they have offered. The ident should be a feature of 2x30 seconds or 1x60. It should have a clear personality that reflects the channel, the content that is shown and the audience that it is aimed for. This can come in different forms, such as animation or live actions.  The purpose of my ident is to present to the viewers of what programme is about to begin. Also, it will give the audience of what type of programme it is along with what the channel is about, which could include some of the elements from other channels. For my synopsis, I would have a group of people chilling in the living room waiting for the next programme. While they are waiting, two people would go back and forth on who is better at answering the questions on the show, which will lead to them competing with each other by asking random questions in which if they get the...

Conventions of an ident

There are different things which would make an ident. One of these thing would be the name of the channel. This would let the audience know on what shows will be presented if the name of the channel appeared.  There would be a logo of the channel presented. This would be the name of the channel along with some image that goes with it, such as a feature that is included on a show which broadcasts on the channel. An ident can be used to present shows. It would fit in the slot where it shows what shows are about to be shown and what shows will be presented.  In some idents, there would be some sort of narrative that would be shown in which then, the name of the channel would appear. This would be a clip of people sitting at home preparing to watch TV, or someone going on about their day and then the name/logo of the channel would then appear in a position in which is shown to be the main attention in the ident.  Also, there would be some things from the shows that are presen...

E4 E4 is a TV channel which is owned by Channel 4. The E stands for entertainment. This channel shows programmes, which are to entertain the audience. These would be shows such as Married at first sight, Brooklyn nine nine, The big bang theory, Made in Chelsea and How I met your mother. The target audience for this channel would be 16-32 year olds. This would be due to how the channel includes shows which the audience can relate to, such as Hollyoaks, which is a soap opera that presents how people live daily. The logo would project a message that entertainment is for a lot of people. The current ident are more animated and relaxed, in which they don't include a lot of stuff on it.  This screengrab presents an ident which is animated. This would be due to how the channel would want to give an introduction to each programme with some form of narrative, in which with this one, the man is chopping down some huge candy sticks to lay it on the ground in the shape of the logo. The overall...

Trailer for a film - Selma (2015) This is a trailer for the film 'Selma', which is a film based on a significant event in Martin Luther King's life. The purpose of this is to educate the audience about the historic struggles to secure voting right for all people due to segregation. The audience for this trailer would be for people who are aged 15-30 years old. This would appeal to males as the trailer shows a male, who is the main character of the film. This would be in the interest of people who are interested in learning more about Martin Luther King's life along with learning about how segregation played a part in a group of people not being able to vote. This would also appeal to people who have a liking to Biopics, considering how the film is based on real life. This would appeal more to Americans as this took Place in America. This would be suited for African Americans. The audience would expect to see some form of violence in the film as the time period that t...

History of idents

A few months after BBC began its service on TV, the company figured that they needed a way to alert the audience about the programme, along with the channel. This would be where the screen identity would be introduced in 1936. There had been some caption cards that was produced for individual shows, which was a technique that was used in cinemas. The turning symbol would be the first look for the ident, with it just being a circle and the name, BBC Television Service. This was created with a paint brush and a card from WH Smith.  In today's media, this would not be something which would stand of the organisation's values, with the practical side being the fact that the BBC artist attempted to outdo other modern products. The image was to grab the attention from the public, which was a mix of an all seeing eye and the wing of a bat. Abram Games and the television symbol The Bat's wings, known as the television symbol, games design was first live on the 2nd of December 19...
